Very fast train, slow journey

Friday we are off to Zhenhai (part of Ningbo, Zhejiang) which is south west of Nanjing, on the coast.

It's about 450km by road. Google maps estimate about 5 hours by car, which might be a bit unrealistic due to heavy traffic.

But by the Chinese very fast train, it's going to take us 6 HOURS. what the?!? I don't think the trains can really reach their full potential here... Our flight from Aussie wasn't much longer.

Zhenhai is near the town that Amy's father came from, but had to escape as a child when the Japanese invaded in WWII. he hadn't been back for 60 years as a 10yo when his grandfather was dying.

I just asked Amy had he been back since he left. She said no because the Americans bombed them. What the.... Not have the Japanese been back. chicks are so logic....yep!
